add a little 'retro flavour' to your wedding photos

I've been asked by brides what I can add to their images to inject a little bit of magic or dreaminess. Black and white of course is a fine option, with the right photo it can create a timeless, classic look, there are cases where it is hard to tell a digital file from a film print. Beyond mono I enjoy a little retro flavour, where I can deliberatly taint a photo, add some filters, texture, borders, replace colours, add fake light leaks and so on, which can bring out a real vintage feeling in an image. I love it, I love the nostalgia and the uniqueness. More and more albums are being printed with a combination of colour, black and white and retro enhancements. Indulge your photos in some vintage goodness today......

Derry Journal Wedding Showcase - Millenium Forum, 28th August 2011

as the prime wedding season draws to a close you'd be forgiven for thinking this would be a fine time to put the feet up and relax with the chessboard and a (pint) glass of Chianti but alas tis not to be. Wedding Fairs up and down the land are opening their doors for hoards of excited brides and grooms to be, and thus we as suppliers get the opportunity to exhibit our finery and attract a few contracts for the years ahead.
The Derry Journal Wedding Fair (or is it Fayre??) is perhaps one of the North-West's best attended and  this year's footfall was perhaps the largest to date. I met couples from all over the land, shared stories and plans with them and fingers crossed secured a few dates for 2012 and 2013.
Personally I enjoy a wedding fair, the buzz is good, young couples armed with freebies passing and calling in for a yap, fellow suppliers from all sectors meeting and greeting and of course the cake samples and odd drop of champagne never hurt.

Here's a wee time lapse of the setting up stage, early sunday morning. In real time it took perhaps 45 minutes and 12 hikes up and down the stairs (roughly equating to 864 steps and 2 almighty buns of steel!!). Hope to catch a few of you at a Fair somewhere around the land soon. Over n' out...
